Dave Buonaguidi doesn’t mince his words; having spent more than 30 years in advertising before embarking on a full time career as Hackney’s funniest printmaker, Dave knows a thing or two about getting his point across.
The artist’s iconic text pieces combine nods to pop culture with his inimitable wit to create works which utilise a tongue in cheek sense of humour with perfection. From works such as Love is Fun and NSFW, to a polite request addressed to Rishi Sunak, Dave’s practice brings together the risqué with the hilarious.
And it’s not just through his print-based works that Dave is able to give us a giggle - his Instagram account @realhackneydave broadcasts his thoughts on everything from Cadbury Flakes to Love Island to his over 24 thousand devoted followers.
We caught up with Dave on humour, authenticity and Jaffa cakes.
